(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The auspicious birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (AS) was celebrated in Melbourne, Australia, on June 15.
The ceremony was organized on the occasion by the committee for overseeing Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) religious ceremonies.
Held at the Memorial Hall of the city, the function was attended by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) devotees, religious scholars, students of Islamic sciences, and Muslims from different cities of Victoria State.
It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Australian reciter Seyyed Hassan Al-Khirsan followed by a speech delivered by Australian Shia scholar Jabir Abi Muhammad An-Nassiri. In his speech, Mr. Nassiri elaborated on the aims of the celebration.
The program also included Tawasheeh (religious singing), eulogy by Talin Ad-Dorraji from Sydney, poetry reading, presenting gifts and reciting part of Amir al-Muminin prayer.
